Well, after 2 years of ZOOM meetings thanks to Covid-19, we were finally able to meet in person to hold our Annual General Meeting on 10th August at the Gnarwarre Tennis Pavilion. Although there were some early hiccups in getting the heaters going, we moved on to our ‘pre-Covid’ tradition of enjoying some wine and cheese in good company.
This set the scene for the formal part of the evening including the President’s Report, Treasurer’s report including the audited financial statements for FY 21/22 and election of members to the Executive committee. Evan Belfrage from the Gnarwarre CFA kindly acted as Casual Returning Officer and the following members were elected to the Executive Committee:
President – Jim Seager,
Vice President – Ian Kelly,
Secretary – Christa Jones,
Treasurer – Heike Dunn,
Newsletter Editor – Leah Carr,
GLN Representatives – Christa Jones and Time Harte,
Committee members – Trevor Jones, Judy Cohn, Geoff Anson and Sandy Cameron.
The formal part of the evening was followed by our guest speaker Sandy Cameron who presented on his journey of restoring native vegetation on and managing his property ‘Hermitage’ on the banks of the Barwon at Murgheboluc over the last ten years. It was an informative and entertaining presentation generating much interest amongst the assembled members.
Congratulations to those elected, thanks to our guest presenter Sandy and all involved in the organising.
