The 2024 AGM was held at the Gnarwarre Tennis Pavilion on 7 Aug 24. After some networking over refreshments and a cheese board the serious Landcare business including election of Executive Committee Members was conducted.

Newly elected members are:

Ian Kelly – Deputy President,
Christa Jones – Secretary,
Heike Dunn – Treasurer
Committee members – Leah Carr (Newsletter editor), Kathy McQuillan, Judy Cohn, Trevor Jones, Ross Mackenzie, Sandy Cameron, Cam Fox and Jennifer Hallowes.

We celebrated our achievements for FY23/24 which included a Christmas function at Mackenzies’, a successful rabbit baiting program, Jogn Read history talk, National Tree Day activities at Waurn Ponds, tree planting at Ceres Primary School and Lola Gugger’s.

Geoff Anson and Joey Harte were thanked by Jim for their contribution to the committee.

Projects for the year include our next General Meeting on 16th October where Stephen Murphy has been invited to speak. There will be an opportunity for a book signing and purchase of his new book.

Other events include our Christmas function which is always a fun event to finish the year. In February a possible movie night at Ric’s Woolshed Theatre and our very important Rabbit Baiting Program.

We thank Peter and Felicity Spear for their attendance. Peter is the GLN President and was kind enough to take on the role of Casual Returning Officer.

Jim closed the meeting by thanking all outgoing committee members for their efforts over the last year and congratulated all incoming committee members.

This was followed by a presentation by our guest speaker Dr Amber Clarke, CEO of Corangamite CMA to present on the roles and responsibilities of the CCMA.
